Parenting Program: Mirror Mirror on the Wall with Clare Lord

MirrorMirror_Clare-Lord_500pxClare Lord, founder and executive director of WISE Philosophy, a community outreach initiative, will be visiting the library on February 9 at 7 pm to present her talk “Mirror Mirror on the Wall: Helping Kids Create a Healthy Relationship Between Food & their Bodies.” This program focuses on what parents can do to help their children’s self-esteem and body image in today’s media-centered world.

Ms Lord has an educational background in psychology, science and nutritional sciences, and has worked as the executive director of ANAB (Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia) Quebec. As the founder of WISE Philosophy, she aims to focus on well-being, insight, support and education. Clare Lord visited the library last spring and her presentation on the top 10 food mistakes that every smart parent makes was enlightening to all who attended.

In her upcoming talk “Mirror Mirror on the Wall”, she will discuss the influence the media can have on children’s and teen’s body image, and what parents can do to help prevent disordered eating. She will explore the link between healthy body image and healthy self-esteem, and offer parents concrete tips on what they can do to support the emotional well-being of their children.

Clare’s dynamic presentation style, combined with her years of experience, make her a speaker you don’t want to miss. Her program will be taking place February 9 at 7 pm. “Mirror Mirror on the Wall” is free to attend, but registration is required. Simply call 514-485-6900 extension 4121 to reserve your spot today.
