For more information about our volunteer programs and to learn how you can help please contact Justin Burnham, Library Express and Community Outreach Coordinator, at or 514-485-6900, ext. 4701.

We thank all our wonderful volunteers for all their hard work toward helping the library to make a difference in the community!

I am a teen (12-17 years old) interested in volunteering

Great! You must be a member of the library to be eligible for volunteering. Click here for our application, or come pick one up in the Children’s Department.

Early Teen Volunteer Program
Ages 12-13

Come lend a hand once a week at the library. You’ll get to do things like prepare crafts and tidy the shelves.

Time commitment: One hour per week for at least 6 weeks.

Teen Advisory Group (TAG)
Ages 13-17

Teens, we need your advice! Become a member of TAG. Attend regular meetings to tell us what you want to see at your library, or come lend a hand with our programs and help build leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Time Commitment: Teen Advisory Group will meet once a month. You are expected to come to each meeting. There will also be additional volunteering opportunities, sent to you via e-mail, so you must have an active e-mail account to join.

Peer-to-Peer Reading Buddies
Ages: 13-17

Help an elementary school student discover the joys of reading by becoming a reading buddy!

Time Commitment: There will be a training session* for Peer-to-Peer Reading Buddies. You will then be matched with a younger student, and will meet with them regularly on a set day and time, one hour per week for at least 4 sessions, with the option to continue.
