Audiobook CDs

The library holds a collection of popular fiction and non-fiction titles in Audiobook CD format. Members can borrow 6 audiobook CDs at a time.

Large Type books

Conveniently located near the reference desk, the library’s collection of Large type books includes popular titles printed in a larger font for readers with visual impairments.

Digital Collection

The library’s digital collection is conveniently accessible online via any personal device. It includes e-books, e-audiobooks, magazines, newspapers, language learning and much more! Visit our ebooks and more page for more information.

DVDs with described video and closed captions

Many of our DVDs come with described video and closed captions.

Memory kits

Our new Memory Kits provide interesting and stimulating activities for you and your loved one to work on together. Each kit contains an assortment of materials to help engage memory through as many senses as possible. These are not only meant to be used for cognitive stimulation, but also as a means of inspiring reminiscence, conversation and creativity.

Services

Home Library Service

The library provides service to those will mobility impairments by delivering materials to their homes. Technology assistance is also provided to those who would like to access the library’s digital collections. To become a member of the Home Library Service, please contact us at 514-485-6900 ext. 5.

Care Calls service

Côte Saint-Luc residents who live alone can sign up to receive a weekday call, at a prearranged time, to confirm their well-being. Also, residents will receive a special birthday message. For more information, contact [email protected] or 514-485-6800 ext. 4306

Library Membership

The library provides the ability to join online, join by telephone or join by email to those who can’t physically come to the library. The library provides Proxy memberships for those caregivers whose charges prefer to not be part of the Home Library Service. Equipment

CCTV reader

A CCTV reader magnifies text found in books, magazines or other print formats for those with low vision.

Large type keyboard

This keyboard features large keys that make it easier to type for those with low vision.

Trackball mouse

A trackball mouse allows for more precision when scrolling.

Windows 10 accessibility features

Installed on all library PCs, the Windows 10 software offers a wide range of accessibility features. Click here to view the flyer for more information.

Magnifying glass

Ask a reference librarian to borrow a magnifying glass.

 

Facilities

Handicap doors

Both entrances to the building are equipped with special doors that open at the touch of a button for easier access.

Wheelchair ramp

A wheelchair ramp is available

Designated parking spots

Designated parking spots are available which are wider and nearest to the back entrance of the building.

Designated bathroom stalls

Designated stalls are available in the men’s and women’s bathrooms which are wider and include a handle for those with reduced mobility.

Elevator with braille

An elevator with braille is available through City Hall for access to the Harold Greenspon Auditorium or Council chamber.
